Motion Design
Tasked with bringing LMC Design’s brand identity for Oxford Castle Prison to life digitally, I developed an organic motion system and brand reveal rooted in the site’s stark history. At the heart of the concept is the logo’s N -cross tally mark, which dictated a hand-made, distressed motion style designed to mimic the crude, painstaking act of carving marks into cell walls. Rejecting overly polished digital transitions, I focused on tactile friction, textured reveals, and frame-by-frame weight across the main animated identity and digital content. Fun, environmental touches—like subtle physics on the courtyard flag and textured wall etchings—further bridge the physical and digital spaces, giving the entire motion package an authentic, gritty, and deeply human feel.
